Anthems II continues the exploration with thirty further classic works from the choral tradition, each assessed across a set of carefully considered comparative categories. Some values are rooted in historical fact. Others reflect informed musical judgement. A few are deliberately open to debate.
As with Anthems I, each card includes a QR code linking directly to a recording of the anthem, allowing players to move easily from comparison to listening.
The result is a card game that rewards both knowledge and instinct. It can be played competitively, but it works just as well as a starting point for discussion, particularly about those elusive qualities that give certain works their enduring place in the repertoire.
Anthems II can be played as its own game, but is fully compatible with Anthems I: the two decks can be combined to create a larger, more competitive set of sixty anthems.
Full Score includes two optional special gameplay cards which introduce additional strategic twists.
